I qualified in Holistic Massage, Anatomy & Physiology in 1999 and realised I needed a greater range of techniques to alleviate muscle tension. I Studied Sports & Remedial Massage with The London School of Sports Massage and discovered a more effective range of soft tissue manipulation techniques including Soft Tissue release, Neuromuscular Technique and Muscle Energy Technique.
I started working as a full time therapist in 2000 and have since helped to reduce pain in clients who suffer from a range of medical conditions, injuries and musculo-skeletal dysfunction including spinal curves, spondylosis, osteoarthritis, sciatica and migraines. I have also massaged elite athletes including premiership footballers, and I currently work as a Locum Therapist for The Royal Ballet Company, massaging the dancers of the company.
As I have become a more intuitive Therapist I have discovered that when connective tissue that surrounds muscles and their fibres, known as myofascia, is ‘tight’, muscles cannot function normally. I have therefore evolved as a Myofascial Release Therapist and in 2012 I trained with The Stretch To Win Institute and became a Level One Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist.
I have always advised clients to stretch between massage sessions to prevent muscles returning to their shortened, contracted state, but for those that don’t I integrate Fascial Stretch Therapy into the massage sessions or it can be done as a complete therapy.
In 2012 I also trained as an Acuball Therapist as I wanted to offer clients self-remedy solutions and I have personally experienced the benefits of these acupressure balls. I also integrate Acuball Therapy into the massage sessions or arrange complete sessions in order for clients to confidently use them alone at home or at work.
I currently work at Recentre Health in Balham, SW17, on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and I also work from my base in Wimbledon. I offer home visits for clients living within a five mile radius of SW19.
